“My passion is to love and serve people to their greatest wellness so they can, in turn, go love and serve people."
Meet Sharlie, NTP
Advanced Clinically Trained Practitioner of Nutrition Response Testing® & Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
I imagine if you have come here, you have been passed from doctor to doctor. You have been told you fall in the "normal range" and are normal, but you know you do not feel normal. Or you have been told you have a condition, have been given a script for it, and have been told to accept this diagnosis as your new normal. This was me! Doctors continually told me the only solution to my condition was a prescription. I was laughed at when I asked if nutrition or any natural solutions could help me. There were times I hung up the phone in tears. I didn't buy it. They were selling me bandaids with negative long-term health effects, and I wanted my health back. This experience is what led me to previous work in a large practice utilizing Nutrition Response Testing® to get people well and now on my own serving the families of North East Florida. This modality gives me the tools I need to fulfill my mission of "attending to the root cause" so that the entire body can flourish.
I have always cared about and have been passionate about nutrition, health, and wellness. As far back as I can remember, my mom and grandmother had me reading labels to avoid partially hydrogenated fats and sugar. My mom always talked about what nutrients I was gaining from the foods I was eating. Though I am constantly learning and refining my knowledge and application of nutrition, it has always been clear to me that what I put into my body for fuel matters. I wanted to be a medical doctor, but whenever I ventured down that road, I would change directions because I could never find a route that would allow me to help people truly heal. I am confident that the body is intelligently designed to heal if you give it the right building blocks and tools. I knew I didn't want to be a medication and symptom manager. And if I went the nutrition route, I didn't want to be limited to the hospital setting or pushing sugar-free jello. There was such a great divide. I couldn't find anything that paired true nutrition with a medical program focused on getting to the root cause of health conditions. But God! Through my hormone imbalance and infertility journey, God led me to Nutrition Response Testing. This nutritional modality gave me myself back! And now I can't help but want to help others.
After my personal success with Nutrition Response Testing® as a patient, I decided to get trained in the technique because I couldn't let the healing stop with me. I had discovered a way I could actually help people get their health back. I finished the Professional Level of Nutrition Response Testing® in July 2017 and completed my Advanced Clinical Training in December of 2019. I have never looked back and have loved every second of serving the families of Jacksonville.
Though the military took my family several places, I have spent most of my 40 years here in Jacksonville, FL. I am married to my high school sweetheart and amazing husband, Brad. We have a son, Jayden, who blows me away every day, and I can't believe I get to be his mom. And our newest addition is our miracle baby girl, Kingsley. We love Jacksonville, our family, church, and community here. We love to hike, fish, be on the water, play outside, eat good food, and be with friends and family. If there is something fun to do outside, we are always game!
Meet Amy
Practitioner of Nutrition Response Testing®
Hi! My name is Amy. I have two children and a fur child. I have been on my health journey for quite some time now. It started when I got pregnant with my oldest, who is now almost 13! As a new mom, I wanted what all moms wanted, the best for their children. We battled what most parents chalk up to as "normal." Ear infections, snotty noses, eczema, fevers, etc. We spent a lot of time at the doctor's with her. She went through rounds of antibiotics and albuterol treatments, an adenoidectomy, a tonsillectomy, and two sets of tubes in her ears, but still no answer as to WHY she had so many issues. Then came my son, and while we had improved our diet, we were taking "good" supplements, and we reduced our toxic load by removing things in our environment. I still felt as though everything was a guessing game. I needed answers for myself and my children. I was given prescription bandaids and told, "that's within normal range." I wanted to get to the root cause, but I didn't know how.
I met Sharlie at a holistic wellness event in the fall of 2019 and had a quick scan done on myself, and I was fascinated by this treatment modality. I booked my first appointment that day and have been seeing her since. Soon after being on the program, I signed both kids up, and we have gotten answers to symptoms I thought we would have to live with as our "normal" forever.
I have become very passionate about learning how to help your body heal as God intended when given the correct nutrition to do so. I am excited to take this passion for health and nutrition and help others who are ready for a root cause approach.
Meet Katie Erba, NTP
Hello, friends! I’m Katie, a nutrition advocate and mother of two with a lively household that includes a dog, a cat, and a handful of chickens. I’m passionate about outdoor adventures, gardening, homeschooling, and constantly learning. And yes—I love food! From cooking and baking to grilling and gardening, I’m inspired by the endless ways food can nourish us. Experimenting with recipes and teaching my children about cooking is one of my greatest joys.
I believe that a nutrient-dense, whole-food lifestyle forms the foundation for optimal health and well-being. Having spent over a decade working in hospital and hospice care, I’ve seen firsthand how real foods can support healing and vitality, while processed foods may contribute to imbalance and “dis-ease.”
My journey with Abiding Wellness began when a friend suggested muscle testing to help with my daughter’s stubborn molluscum. With Sharlie’s guidance and a customized protocol, my daughter’s molluscum gradually reduced and eventually disappeared. Inspired by her progress, my son and I soon joined the Abiding Wellness family, each of us benefitting from their holistic care.
I feel blessed to be part of Abiding Wellness, where Sharlie and Amy’s dedication and compassion are truly transformative. My mission here is to support their vision by offering nutrition guidance and education, empowering clients with the tools they need to make meaningful choices for their health. Together, we can build a strong nutritional foundation that enhances the benefits of muscle testing, and through Food Log assessments, turn insights into real-life actions to fill any dietary gaps. I look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey to wellness through nutrition at Abiding Wellness!
